While I love Nintendo and never want to see them fail, this article seems very naive. In particular:
In the last few months, “Pikmin 3,” “Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD” and the sublime “Super Mario 3D World” have dazzled reviewers, nixing criticism that the Wii U lacks games.
I wouldn’t say that three games, even if they are “sublime” is enough to nix the criticism that the Wii U lacks games. He’ll, one of the three is just a HD re-release.
2014 should be a good year in terms of titles, with “Bayonetta 2,” “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze,” “Mario Kart 8” and “Super Smash Bros. U” all slated for release for the Wii U — a strong lineup by any standards.
Four games is not a strong lineup; though I’m sure Mario Kart and Smash Bros. will bring in some sales.
I really hope Nintendo does well in 2014, but it increasingly looks like it’s going to be a handheld dominated year.
